J.R. Reed had a short time in Detroit. The Lions released the young safety from the team’s practice squad on Friday.
Detroit signed Reed to the practice squad earlier in the week. With several injuries in the secondary, Reed was needed to help the Lions prepare to face the Miami Dolphins in Week 8.
The Lions have yet to make a corresponding move, but the team is expected to bring rookie DT Demetrius Taylor back on the practice squad. Taylor was waived this week after being a healthy scratch most weeks.
