247Sports’ Josh Pate is high on the Texas Longhorns this week.

After two top-25 wins under their belt, Pate placed Texas at No. 1 in his Week 6 Poll. In comparison, the AP Poll placed the Longhorns at No. 3, while the Coaches Poll has Texas at No. 4.

Texas has a valid argument to be considered the top team in the country if you factor in their strength of schedule, two double-digit wins against ranked teams, and the overall talent and depth on the roster.

The next big test for Texas is to take on Oklahoma in the Red River Rivalry in Week 6. If the No. 3 Longhorns are able to defeat the No. 12 Sooners this Saturday, it would be hard not to move Texas up in the AP Poll.
