That didn’t take long.
Former Washington Redskins cornerback Josh Norman’s name has already come up on the free-agent market thanks to the Buffalo Bills, if not others.
Bills general manager Brandon Beane let that slip during interviews at the NFL combine.
“We have looked into him and even talked to him,” Beane said, according to the Bills’ official website. “Nothing more than that. I’m sure he may have some other teams that he’s looking at beyond Buffalo. Probably a similar situation to Greg Olsen, he’s in a spot where he’ll be able to choose where he wants to go. I don’t know what his plan will be of whether we’ll come to any type of agreement.”
This shouldn’t register as too much of a shock. Norman fell off and out of favor in Washington on a massive contract. But there’s probably a belief he could excel again in a different scheme and he won’t nearly cost as much this time out.
Then again, it should be interesting to watch whether Norman gets a deal before the draft. In theory, he could be one of those veterans who doesn’t find a home until all of the draft dominoes settle into place.
If it’s the Bills, the Redskins aren’t scheduled to play them in 2020.
