Tennessee (2-1, 0-0 SEC) will kick off Southeastern Conference play Saturday at No. 12 Florida (2-1, 0-1 SEC).
First-year Tennessee head coach Josh Heupel met with media for the final time Thursday ahead of playing the Gators at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium.
Heupel provided an update on injured offensive lineman Cooper Mays.
Mays started at center for the Vols in its season-opening contest against Bowling Green. He suffered an ankle injury and did not play against Pittsburgh and Tennessee Tech.
“I anticipate Coop being back with us,” Heupel said of Mays on Thursday.
Kickoff for Tennessee-Florida is slated for 7 p.m. EDT. ESPN will televise the matchup.
