On Friday, the Buffalo Bills wrapped their third day of 2024 training camp. The team was given a surprise.
Accompanied by her husband and the team’s owner, Terry Pegula, Kim Pegula made her first public appearance in years. She helped the team break their usual huddle at the end of practice.
Kim, 55, had a cardiac arrest episode in 2022. She had only previously watched training camp practices from an SUV on the side of the field since then. Heading out to the huddle was her first true occasion in the public eye.
It was later revealed that Pegula has battled through lingering health effects from the cardiac arrest… because of that, it made it all the more special for players to see her. Two longtime Bills certainly were.
“It just shows progress,” offensive lineman Dion Dawkins said. “We’re proud of her, that’s still mama bear.”
“The least we can do is rally around her,” quarterback Josh Allen added.
