The saga between Draymond Green and Jordan Poole continues to rumble on, despite the Golden State Warriors swapping the 24-year-old guard for Chris Paul. On July 18, a clip of an upcoming podcast between Patrick Beverley and Green was released on Twitter. During the clip, Green is discussing the incident in which he punched Poole during Golden State’s 2022 training camp, noting how he doesn’t ‘just hit people.’
However, shortly after the clip began to circulate, Jordan Poole’s father, Anthony Poole, shared his thoughts on the incident between Green and his son. Within his comment, Anthony Poole also claimed that Green avoided him and his wife through the 2022-23 NBA season.
“I’m stand on this that’s is some bs,” Anthony Poole replied. “Jp was his guy and he avoid me all last yr. He is a soft a** b**** and I’m standing on this and he didn’t apologize to me and my wife. So he lame and me and him can meet anytime he want.”

After the Warriors’ season came to an end, Green noted how the incident between himself and Poole had a negative effect on his ability to be a vocal leader within the locker room during an interview with ESPN’s Stephen A Smith.
“When you speak about all of the slippage we had as a team on the road, not being able to come together,” Green explained. “None of those things happen if that (the punch) doesn’t happen because the voice that I am and the departments that I lead this team in, there was a ton of slippage due to me sitting back, me not saying anything, me trying to allow that situation to play itself out and give it time to heal.”
With Poole no longer on the Warriors roster and the front office adding some new faces during the summer, Golden State fans will be hoping Green, and the rest of the team, can put ‘the punch’ behind them and focus on competing for a championship next season.
