Jordan Poole addresses Draymond Green altercation for first time: ‘He apologized’

For the first time since his altercation with Draymond Green at practice, Jordan Poole addressed the situation and Green’s apology.

After Draymond Green landed a punch during an altercation with his teammate Jordan Poole at practice that was later leaked in a viral video, the Golden State Warriors veteran forward received an undisclosed fine and took some time away from the team.

Before opening night of the NBA season, Green returned to the team and publicly apologized to Poole and his family.

On Sunday, Poole addressed the incident for the first time. The 23-year-old guard told members of the media that he and Green are in Golden State to win a championship and “keep hanging banners.”

He apologized — professional and we plan on handling ourselves that way. We’re here to play basketball. Everybody in the locker room and on our team knows what it takes to win a championship, and we’re going to do that on the court.

That’s really all I have to say on the matter. We’re here to win a championship and keep hanging banners.

After a breakout season on the way to the 2022 NBA Finals, Poole signed a massive four-year, $140 million contract extension with the Warriors over the weekend.

With apologies issued and Poole’s extension locked up, the Warriors now prepare for the start of the 2022-23 regular season. The defending champions open the season with a ring and banner ceremony at San Francisco’s Chase Center before hosting LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday night.
