The Oregon Ducks suffered a major blow prior to the primetime showdown against the Ohio State Buckeyes on Saturday night.
Leading up to the game, Oregon officially listed star senior defensive lineman Jordan Burch as ‘questionable’ on Saturday’s availability report ahead of the top-five matchup between the No. 3 Ducks and No. 2 Buckeyes.
Burch, who has been having a career year with the Ducks and is playing as one of the best defensive linemen in the country, suffered a knee injury in practice on Thursday. According to a report from ESPN’s Pete Thamel, Burch was “uncertain” on if he could play Saturday or not.

Through the first five games of the year, Burch racked up 19 total tackles, 7 tackles for loss, and a career-high five sacks. Rather than go to the NFL Draft last season, he returned to Eugene for one more year in hopes of increasing his draft stock and leading the Ducks to the College Football Playoff.
We will continue to monitor the situation throughout the coming days and weeks and hear if head coach Dan Lanning has anything to say on the matter after the game on Saturday night. For this game, though, the Ducks will potentially be without one of the best players on their roster in a marquee Big Ten matchup.
