Jordan Addison, Andrew Vorhees make AP Preseason All-America First Team

The inclusion of Andrew Vorhees on the preseason AP roster offers a reminder: USC’s starting offensive linemen are good. It’s the depth which is lacking.

It’s preseason projection time. College football teams are being slotted into bowl games and playoff spots. College football players are being projected onto All-America teams.

The Associated Press Preseason All-America team is out for 2022. Two USC Trojans made the first team.

Receiver Jordan Addison and guard Andrew Vorhees give the Trojans the only two players on the AP roster.

It is notable that Vorhees made the list, for the simple reason that USC’s starting offensive line has quality players. The Trojans’ frontline trench warriors on the offensive side of the ball are actually very good. When you hear people worry about the offensive line, it’s not because of the players USC actually has. It’s because of the players USC doesn’t have.

The Trojans lack depth. An injury to Vorhees would be hugely damaging, as would an injury to the other prime starters up front. If this group can stay relatively healthy, the offense should rock and roll this season.

Addison is a big reason why.

The Biletnikoff Award winner from 2021 is a projected top-20 NFL draft pick for next April. Caleb Williams gets to throw him the ball.

If this offense stays healthy, watch out.
