[autotag]Johnny Sauter[/autotag] is no longer full-time in the NASCAR Truck Series; however, at 45 years old, that doesn’t mean he will stop racing soon. On Monday afternoon, [autotag]Niece Motorsports[/autotag] announced that Sauter will drive the No. 45 truck in this weekend’s NASCAR Truck Series race at Texas Motor Speedway.
The former ThorSport Racing driver competed in the Truck Series race at Daytona International Speedway earlier in the season and did well. Sauter led 24 laps and had a truck capable of winning; however, he was involved in a crash and finished in 29th place. Now, Sauter gets another opportunity for Niece Motorsports as he searches for his first win since 2019.

Sauter still has the talent to compete in the Truck Series, but the grind of a full NASCAR schedule is hard for a driver at 45 years old. Perhaps the 2016 Truck Series champion will race in even more events moving forward. Sauter can still race for wins, and it wouldn’t be shocking to see the No. 45 truck for Niece Motorsports in victory lane at Texas.
