Joel Embiid, Sixers discuss lessons learned from blowout loss to Nets

Joel Embiid and the Philadelphia 76ers discuss the lessons they can learn from a blowout loss to the Brooklyn Nets.

CAMDEN, N.J.–The Philadelphia 76ers got back to work on Saturday as they look to move on from a bad blowout loss to the Brooklyn Nets at home on Thursday. The Sixers just did not show up from the beginning as they were down 40-23 after the first quarter and they could not recover from the tough start against a quality opponent.

James Harden shot just 3-for-17, Joel Embiid was 5-for-17, Tyrese Maxey only had four points, and Philadelphia couldn’t get it going. The game did feature a lot of theatrics in the form of Ben Simmons’ return, but that shouldn’t have been an excuse for the Sixers to have such a poor performance.

On Philadelphia’s side, the energy the crowd provided should have been enough to give them a boost. However, it was obvious that the game meant more to the Nets from the jump and that’s a lesson that Philadelphia will have to learn.
