In Wednesday’s win over the Utah Jazz before the All-Star break, Philadelphia 76ers big man Joel Embiid once again made more history for the franchise. This has been a common occurrence for the big fella all season, but it is still impressive, nonetheless.
Embiid had 40 points and 19 rebounds, while making a statement against former Defensive Player of the Year winner Rudy Gobert, and in the process, he passed franchise great Charles Barkley for the most 40 and 15 games in Sixers history in the 3-point era. Embiid now has nine such games which passes the eight games that Barkley was able to put together.

This has been an impressive season for Embiid as he has clearly taken another step in terms of becoming the player he is expected to be. He has taken better care of his body and he has changed his mentality. He wants to dominate every matchup every night and it is the main reason why he is in the MVP conversation at the All-Star break.
