Joel Embiid on Team Giannis, Ben Simmons on Team LeBron in All-Star

Philadelphia 76ers All-Stars Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons are on opposite sides for the game.

The Philadelphia 76ers have bigger things to worry about at this moment in time, but Thursday night was the NBA All-Star draft and the team’s two All-Stars found out which team they would be playing for in Chicago’s game.

Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James and Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo were the captains again for the All-Star game, therefore, they were able to make draft selections. They selected from the starting group first before selecting from the reserves.

Antetokounmpo selected Joel Embiid with the second overall pick from the starters and then when the reserves were being selected, James picked up Ben Simmons. So, the two players will play against each other in the game for the second consecutive season.

One aspect to look at is that former Sixers forward Jimmy Butler is with Embiid on Team Giannis. So it’s funny how that works out. Take with that what you will.

The Sixers will take on the Bucks on Thursday in Milwaukee at 8:00 p.m. EST looking to salvage a game on a tough road trip. [lawrence-related id=25083,25085,25077]
