Cincinnati Bengals running back Joe Mixon is the most notable name on the team’s Thursday injury report, not counting Joe Burrow going “full” with his “throat” injury designation.

Mixon was limited on Wednesday before the no-show on Thursday. He’s dealing with an ankle injury suffered late in a Week 4 win that wound up heavily limiting his workload in Week 5 (though one of his carries went for a touchdown).

The other DNP of the day was rookie guard D’Ante Smith, who should be a starter over the weekend if fellow rookie Jackson Carman can’t get off the COVID-19 list in time.

The following players were limited on Thursday’s injury report:

  • C Trey Hopkins (knee)
  • WR Mike Thomas (ankle)

A week ago, Mixon didn’t practice at all during the week, testing things on Saturday and then playing Sunday anyway, albeit on a light workload. Bengals coaches have said to expect similar practice habits this week, which could mean a light workload against the Lions, too.
