As Cincinnati Bengals fans have seen him do in the past, running back Joe Mixon is once again lobbying for his team to go after certain free agents.
This time it’s former Cleveland Browns linebacker Joe Schobert, as reports Saturday confirmed the Browns wouldn’t re-up with the veteran defender.
Mixon didn’t take long to pounce on the report and suggest he’d like Schobert to stay in the state of Ohio.
And Schobert has always looked like an interesting free-agent target for a Bengals team that needs to rebuild every level of its linebacker unit besides Germaine Pratt, the promising rookie from last year.
Schobert might be a little rich for Cincinnati’s tastes on the open market, but he’s still a second-tier guy and known for his coverage abilities, which is something the Bengals have lacked in the unit for years.
If nothing else, it’s nice to see one of the team’s vocal leaders again publicly lobby for additions to the roster.
Thank You @Browns đŹ I have the upmost respect for Joe as a man and a football player. I wouldnât mind if you came to the better side of Ohio Just sayinđ¤ˇđ˝ââď¸ @TheSchoGoesOn53 https://t.co/udOhMN09vv
