Cincinnati Bengals running back Joe Mixon has mentioned in the past Marshawn Lynch is something of a mentor to him.
Naturally, Mixon is as excited as anyone else to see that Lynch is back with the Seattle Seahawks for the final week of the season and playoffs.
“He’s been teaching me about the game and how to prepare for it,” Mixon said, per Geoff Hobson of Bengals.com. “Hopefully we don’t play at the same time and I can watch it.”
No worries for Mixon. The Bengals are an early kick Sunday against the Browns and Lynch’s Seahawks don’t take the field until Sunday Night Football against the San Francisco 49ers.
Lynch made waves this holiday week by returning to the NFL after a brief retirement kept him out all of this season. Previously, he had played just six games with the Oakland Raiders in 2018.
