Following the retirement of offensive linemen Zach Fulton and Joe Looney, as well as the retirement of linebacker Todd Davis, several former NFL players lit into New York Giants head coach Joe Judge for his overbearing ways.
Among them was former Giants offensive lineman Geoff Schwartz. Jeff Allen, Michael DeVito and Shaun Smith also chimed in.

“Joe Looney gets signed [and] in his first two practices he’s got to run a lap for a mistake and then run sprints and pushups to end practice for a fight. Brutal,” Scwartz tweeted.
“The New England way outside of New England is toxic,” Allen tweeted.
“It’s really so true,” DeVito replied in agreement.
Smith took things even further, claiming Judge is too worried about his ego and his hair.
“He thinks he is [running] a college program or he thinks he is Bill Parcells,” Smith tweeted. “Joe Judge hasn’t won [expletive]. He’s too worried about his hair and ego — they are the new Pats.”
On Friday, sporting a fresh new haircut, the “toxic” and “egotistical” Judge continued his archaic ways by giving Giants players extra days off before their scheduled day off.
Wait, what? No… That can’t possibly be.
“On the backend of this week, there’s been a couple guys you’ll see today that we’re going to back off a little bit with the emphasis of getting them back early next Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday. So, having the day off tomorrow, they can take a little more off from today, give them a little bit more rest time on their bodies, and get them back for the early part next week,” Judge told reporters.
The horror!
“It’s not a 60-minute game yet for these guys because they’re not in playing shape yet, so we’ve got to make sure they won’t just throw everything out at once and have their bodies react worse. We have to make sure we build them up,” Judge added.
So toxic.
Judge also explained in detail why certain players like cornerback Adoree’ Jackson (among others) were receiving additional downtime.
“That was pre-planned right there with Adoree’ yesterday, based on some of the things he’s done. He’s had high loads early in the week. We just kind of look at the guy as a complete player, in terms of what his body has been doing. We look at not only what he’s done, but we have coming up as well. I want to make sure they balance him as much possible because we’re still in that point of training camp where we’ve got to acclimate these players and get him going forward,” Judge said.
Giants camp sounds truly horrible. Just like things in New England. Or something.
