There’s been talk about beef between the Utah Jazz players and Rudy Gobert for a while now.
Gobert’s careless behavior ahead of his coronavirus diagnosis rubbed a lot of people the wrong way, including his teammate Donovan Mitchell who was diagnosed with the virus a day later.
That pot was stirred once again Friday morning when it was reported that the relationship between the two stars didn’t “appear to be salvageable,”according to reporting from The Athletic.
But his teammate, Joe Ingles actually seemed to indicate that wasn’t the case. In fact, he just wants to come over his house for a meal or two.
Pissed I can’t go to his house for a free meal right now! He got a great chef! https://t.co/CLSYqeeKcH

Gobert said he’s more than welcome, too.

Back to Ingles, he seemed to be pretty dismissive of the story. He tweeted “Lol” shortly after it broke and also made some jokes about sourcing.
Lol

Ingles is only one player and he doesn’t speak for the rest of the Jazz team, but it’s clear things are all good between him and Gobert.
What’s worth noting is that Mitchell still hasn’t come out and said anything about any beef recently. But the last time he did speak about Gobert in a Good Morning America appearance, it was clear that he was irritated by Gobert’s behavior.
Only time will tell how this thing turns out. And we’ve got more than enough of that between now and the time the NBA returns. Maybe, by then, Gobert and Mitchell will have hashed things out. That is, if there’s still anything that needs to be hashed out.
