Joe Burrow’s family again squashes Bengals draft speculation

Joe Burrow’s family again spoke about the Bengals situation.

As expected, LSU quarterback Joe Burrow going to Fort Worth and receiving the Davey O’Brien Award produced some interesting angles from a Cincinnati Bengals perspective.

Burrow himself, for example, spoke openly about the Bengals situation.

And so did his family.

Burrow’s mother, Robin, specifically, shot down the idea their son doesn’t want to play for the Bengals.

“We have no idea where that comes from,” Robin said, according to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram’s Drew Davison. “It’s a story out there that someone has created that doesn’t have any substance — from our perspective at least.”

This isn’t the first time Burrow’s family has addressed the topic — the quarterback’s father, Jimmy, has said kind things about the Cincinnati potential situation.

In a grander scheme of things, this is the usual drama a struggling team with the first pick faces each year when there’s a stellar quarterback prospect poised to go No. 1.

This might be a little louder than anticipated in February, but there’s a chance Burrow himself shuts it down at the combine after meeting with the team.

Until then, it’s really hard to doubt comments from Burrow’s family when it comes to this topic.
