Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow took a sack in the third quarter of Sunday night’s Week 18 game against the Pittsburgh Steelers and remained down briefly, causing a pause in the game.
While taking the sack, Burrow went helmet-first into the ground and the game paused for an injury timeout, with Bengals head coach Zac Taylor coming out to check on the star quarterback.
During the break, Burrow eventually left the field alongside trainers and was quickly seen on the sidelines with a tablet on the bench. He later went to the blue medical tent.
Burrow suffered the injury scare with his offense in the red zone and the Bengals were up 13-7. Cade York made it 16-7 on a field goal attempt after the play.
Update: Burrow returned to the game after the trip to the medical tent, where consultants appeared to screen him for a concussion.
