Joe Burrow certainly set a very high bar for NFL draft prospects. Caleb Williams can only hope to mach the first several years of Burrow’s NFL career with the Cincinnati Bengals.
Bengals Wire noted that Burrow has unsurprisingly been named to a list of the best NFL draft prospects since 2012.
Joel Klatt ranked his top five NFL quarterback prospects coming out of college since 2012 based on their outlook and not how they went on to perform in the NFL and both USC’s Caleb Williams and North Carolina’s Drake Maye made the list at No. 1 and No. 4, respectively.
In between those two was Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow at No. 3, with Trevor Lawrence right ahead of him.
After Burrow’s senior season at LSU in which he won the national championship and threw for 5,671 yards and 60 touchdowns, he was viewed as a can’t-miss prospect and so far in the NFL that has proven to be true since he has taken the Bengals to two AFC Championships and their first Super Bowl appearance since 1989.
