Joe Burrow: being QB of Bengals ‘is a dream for me’

Despite the adversity he’s already faced, Joe Burrow couldn’t be happier about where he landed in the NFL.

It wasn’t easy going for Joe Burrow at the helm of the Cincinnati Bengals offense last year as the team finished with a dismal overall record of 4-11-1.

Burrow himself was on track to win Rookie of the Year, but he suffered behind an offensive line that allowed him to be sacked 32 times and was prematurely sidelined in November with a severe left knee injury against the Washington Football Team that required reconstructive surgery.

Despite the early adversity, Burrow couldn’t be more content with the team he landed with as the No. 1 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.

Burrow made that clear when he recently appeared on “The Cris Collinsworth Podcast.”

“No. No, being from Ohio, this is where I wanted to be,” Burrow said. “And then, when you sit down with Zac, and you really, I mean Zac’s unbelievable. He’s gonna be great for us for a long time. Me and him have a special relationship, and there was chemistry from the very first meeting that we had at the Combine. So this is, this is a dream for me to be quarterback of the Bengals.”

The Bengals have certainly had their fair share of ups-and-downs throughout recent history, but Burrow seems optimistic heading into the 2021 NFL season.

I mean, it’s crazy. [I’m] from Ohio. It’s a lot of fun. We have great players, great coaches. And, you know, I think the future is bright.”
