J.J. Watt, wife purchase minority stake in English soccer team

They are buying a stake in Burnley, a team getting promoted to the English Premier League.

Retired Arizona Cardinals defensive end J.J. Watt is done with retirement. After only a few months, he and his wife made a video to announce he is unretiring, but he isn’t coming back to the NFL.

The Watts announced they are going to own a European soccer team.

They are purchasing a minority stake in Burnley F.C., a team that was in the second tier of English soccer and won the championship, earning a promotion to the Premier League.

Watt calls it “a small minority investment, but a huge emotional investment.”

His wife, Kealia, is a professional soccer player in the NWSL.

J.J. now has something new to get passionate about with all his extra time now that he isn’t training for the NFL season.

It should be fun to see how involved they are and what they bring to social media.
