J.J. Watt to Host Saturday Night Live

Wisconsin great J.J. Watt set to host Saturday Night Live on February 1st.

Former Wisconsin great J.J. Watt has certainly had a successful playing career for both the Badgers and now with the Houston Texans.

Watt who has been named NFL Defensive Player of the year three times in his illustrious career on Tuesday was announced as the latest athlete to host Saturday Night Live.

Watt, 30, will host SNL on February 1st the night before Super Bowl LIV between the San Francisco 49ers and Kansas City Chiefs.

This won’t be the first time Watt has acted in 2013 he made his debut playing himself on the FX show The League for three episodes he also appeared in Fox’s New Girl too.

Watt made his movie debut in Bad Moms in 2016 as he played Coach Craig. In addition, in 2016 he also was in Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk.

Watt recently finished up his ninth season in the NFL. Watt appeared in eight games during the regular season before sustaining a pectoral injury. Watt returned in time to play in Houston’s two playoff games.

Watt is the 11th NFL player to host Saturday Night Live and the first since New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning in 2012. Watt also co-hosted the Country Music Television Awards in 2016 with Erin Andrews.
