J.J. Watt to be inducted into Texans’ Ring of Honor in 2023

He will be inducted into their Ring of Honor on Oct. 1 when the Texans play the Steelers.

Defensive lineman J.J. Watt finished his career playing two seasons for the Arizona Cardinals but made a name for himself and put together a Hall of Fame resume with the Houston Texans.

Now retired, Watt is returning to Houston.

The Texans announced Watt’s return in a video with the former player saying he is going back to H-Town.

The reason? The images in the video suggest that Watt will be inducted into the Texans’ Ring of Honor on Oct 1, when the Texans host the Pittsburgh Steelers.

While the Texans perhaps missed an opportunity by not waiting for their home game on Nov. 19 against the Cardinals, allowing Watt’s former teammates also to honor and celebrate him, there is a big reason why Watt and the team chose the game against the Steelers.

J.J.’s two brothers, Derek and T.J., both play for the Steelers.

Watt’s whole family will be able to attend and see the ceremony.

That will be a big game.
