As usual, Michigan football is an underdog to rival Ohio State, a team that it’s lost to the past nine times they’ve faced off against each other. But, unlike Michigan State’s test vs. the Buckeyes, the team that beat the Wolverines in Week 9, the line is but one score for The Game.
With the talk of renewed energy in Schembechler Hall, which started in the offseason and helped propel the maize and blue to 10-1, that has apparently carried over into Week 13.
Speaking with Jon Jansen on the ‘Inside Michigan Football’ radio show on the IMG Radio Network, Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh said his team is focused and ready to go when it hosts the Buckeyes on Saturday.
“I see it in their eyes,” Harbaugh said. “I hear the power in their voices, I see the confidence in their eyes. I think we’re all feeding off of each other like that. When I look at them, it feels like I’m looking in the mirror. I see the same confidence in them that I’m feeling inside of me.”

But that doesn’t equate to a win without action behind that confidence.
With that in mind, what is Michigan going to have to do in order to win? Jim Harbaugh said that it’s going to require not only every phase of the game to play close to flawlessly, but also up to individual players to step up and have big games across the board.
“We’re gonna have to play really good as a team — offensively, defensively, special teams,” Harbaugh said. “It’s gonna come down to individuals really knowing their role, staying in their role, starring in their role. Back to playing really good as a team. You play really good, you’ve got a chance to win the game. You don’t play really good, you have a really good chance to not to win the game.”
Michigan and Ohio State will kick off at noon EST at The Big House. The Game will be nationally televised on Fox.
