Jets officially activate Aaron Rodgers, waive Nick Bawden

The Jets have officially added Aaron Rodgers back to the active roster. Nick Bawden was waived to make room.

The Jets officially activated quarterback Aaron Rodgers from injured reserve Wednesday, bringing him back to the 53-man roster just 14 weeks after undergoing surgery on his torn Achilles September 13. Rodgers will not play this season but this allows him to continue rehabbing and practicing with the team through the rest of the season.

In a corresponding move, the Jets waived fullback Nick Bawden. Bawden played in all 14 games for the Jets, logging two rushes for four yards with a touchdown and two catches for two yards. He’s been a key part in blocking for Breece Hall and Dalvin Cook.

Bawden is also among the top ten fullbacks in Pro Bowl, ranking No. 8 as of Wednesday. Bawden will go through the waiver system and can come back on the practice squad if he clears waivers.
