Jets injury report: Jermaine Johnson, Elijah Moore out, Russell Wilson questionable for Broncos

New York Jets DE Jermaine Johnson is out with an ankle injury and WR Elijah Moore is out after this trade request for Week 7 in Denver.

The Jets are quite healthy heading into Week 7 of the season. Of their available players, all but two did not practice in full Friday and we know the reason for one of them, for sure. The other was pretty well-known as well.

WR Elijah Moore was already declared out for Sunday’s game against the Denver Broncos as the Jets are giving him the weekend to cool off and work out on his own after what became an eventful week including a trade request Thursday. DE Jermaine Johnson is also out as he continues to recover from an ankle injury but the hope is he can return next week and play in Week 8 against the New England Patriots.

The only other player with a game designation is safety Ashtyn Davis, who is questionable with a hamstring injury but did practice in full Friday. Duane Brown (shoulder), Braxton Berrios (back) and Quincy Williams (ankle) all practiced in full and do not have a game designation.

For the Broncos, all eyes are on QB Russell Wilson, who was limited all week with the hamstring injury he suffered in Monday’s loss to the Los Angeles Chargers. He is officially questionable for Sunday. If he cannot go, Brett Rypien would get the start for Denver.

CB Essang Bassey (hamstring) is out and safety Caden Sterns (hip) is doubtful after being downgraded to out for Friday’s practice after being limited Wednesday and Thursday.

Along with Wilson, LB Joseph Jewell (knee), DT D.J. Jones (ankle), OL Quinn Meinerz (foot) and DL DeShawn Williams (back) are all questionable.
