Jets, ‘Hard Knocks’ will shine a little more spotlight on Panthers in 2023

The NFL’s choice to document the Jets on this year’s edition of Hard Knocks will put a little extra attention on the Panthers.

Since the Carolina Panthers have themselves a brand new head coach, they were ineligible to star in the newest edition of HBO’s Hard Knocks. But that doesn’t mean they can’t at least play a supporting role in the production.

As first reported by ESPN’s Adam Schefter on Wednesday morning, the NFL and NFL Films have selected the New York Jets as the subject of this year’s program. And it just so happens that these Jets—who are now led by a four-time Most Valuable Player and a rather, um, interesting subject in his own right in Aaron Rodgers—will be hitting Spartanburg later this summer.

Cameras will presumably be following Gang Green into Wofford College, where they’ll meet up with the Panthers for joint practices on Tuesday, Aug. 9 and Thursday, Aug. 10. Those sessions will then be followed up by the preseason opener between the two squads, which’ll take place on Saturday, Aug. 12 at Bank of America Stadium.

So get ready for some extra lights, camera and action, Sparkle City!
