The Jets will have some nice speed in their offense this season. They have signed free-agent wide receiver Mecole Hardman, formerly of the Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs.

Hardman gets a one-year deal worth up to $6.5 million, per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

Hardman adds a lot of speed on the outside for the offense and whoever will be throwing him the football, presumably Aaron Rodgers. He ran a 4.33 40-yard dash at the NFL combine in 2019 and was a second-round pick of the Chiefs.

Injuries limited him to eight regular-season games in 2022, when he caught 25 passes for 297 yards and four touchdowns. He played in the AFC Championship Game but left early with an injury and missed the Super Bowl LVII win over the Philadelphia Eagles.

Hardman joins what is shaping up to be a strong arsenal of weapons on the outside, along with the newly signed Allen Lazard and Offensive Rookie of the Year Garrett Wilson. Hardman can help take the top off a defense and make big plays deep while also opening up the field for Lazard and Wilson. The offense looks very intriguing now for the boys in green.
