Jeremiah Martin recalled from Long Island with Garrett Temple out

The Brooklyn Nets will have both of their two-way players with them for Friday’s game against the San Antonio Spurs.

The Brooklyn Nets have officially ruled Garrett Temple out for Friday’s game against the San Antonio Spurs. He has a left ankle sprain.

With Temple being ruled out, the Nets have recalled a player from the Long Island Nets, Brooklyn’s G League affiliate. Rather than recall Nets rookie Nic Claxton or Dzanan Musa, Brooklyn recalled Jeremiah Martin — who, like Claxton and Musa, was previously ruled out against the Spurs with Long Island set to face the Lakeland Magic, Orlando’s G League team.

Martin is averaging 17.7 points per game for Long Island while playing 30.4 minutes per game this season. He’s also averaging 1.8 steals and 4.8 assists per game.

Martin has appeared in two games for Brooklyn, both of which were in January. The two-way player’s appearance against the Chicago Bulls on January 31 was his NBA debut. Martin then scored his first NBA points in Brooklyn’s game against the Golden State Warriors on February 5.
