While former Duke basketball star [autotag]Jayson Tatum[/autotag] basked in the glow of his first NBA championship in Boston on Monday night, a tiny pair of arms wrapped themselves around his torso.
The ESPN broadcast of the Celtics’ Game 5 win over the Dallas Mavericks got a close-up look of Tatum with his hands on his knees soaking in the moment. After a second, his son Deuce poked his head around his father’s shoulder.
The duo, typically inseparable even during the most meaningless of regular-season games, surely wanted to spend those ensuing moments with nobody more than each other.
“Daddy!” the younger Tatum yelled before Jayson turned and lifted him into the air and embraced him in a firm hug.
The father and son duo watched as green and white confetti rained down around them with thousands of Celtics fans embracing the moment. The ESPN crew lingered on Deuce’s eyes for a few moments as the six-year-old took in the entire scene with wide eyes.
