Former Alabama wide receiver Jaylen Waddle was selected by the Miami Dolphins with the No. 6 overall pick in the 2021 NFL draft. What makes that selection special, is that he will be reunited with his former college quarterback, Tua Tagovailoa.

Tagovailoa and Waddle have a strong history, having played two seasons together under Nick Saban in a Crimson Tide uniform.

Chemistry was certainly a factorin drafting the Alabama star, but Waddle’s abilities made him a must-have receiver for the Dolphins. His skills will be a great help to Miami’s offense, which struggled in 2020.

Even though the team finished last season with a record of 10-6, just missing out on a playoff berth, Tagovailoa has received plenty of harsh criticism, and hate, online.

Some question his arm strength and his accuracy, but others bring his leadership abilities into question.

Well, Waddle spoke to reporters about the kind of leader Tagovailoa is.

“He is just a natural leader. Natural born learn. He’s confident. He knows what to do and is smart. Everything you want a leader to do Tua presents,” said Waddle.
