It was a career outing on Saturday against Mississippi State for both [autotag]Jayden Daniels[/autotag] and [autotag]Malik Nabers[/autotag].
Nabers was practically unguardable against the Bulldogs, reeling in all 13 of his targets for 239 yards and two touchdowns, the bulk of which came in the first half alone. Former Florida coach and now-ESPN analyst Dan Mullen named Nabers his top overall performer of the week in college football.
Mullen also put together a separate ranking for quarterbacks, and Daniels ranked No. 2 coming off a hyperefficient game in which he completed 30 of 34 passes for 361 yards and two touchdowns. He also added a pair of scores on the ground.
The duo was expected to be one of the most prolific quarterback/receiver combinations in the county, and this game was the first we had really seen them be in sync. Both were named SEC Co-Offensive Players of the Week for their efforts.
The Tigers will hope that trend continues as LSU enters the meat of SEC play.
