LSU baseball is one of the premier brands in the sport, and it’s coming off a national title in the second year under coach [autotag]Jay Johnson[/autotag].
Johnson looks to have another title-contending team this spring, but for that trend to continue, it’s important that the Tigers don’t fall behind other programs in the arms race.
That applies to players, coaches, personnel and facilities. Johnson addressed the latter specifically during the team’s media day on Friday, stating that he wants the program to build an indoor practice facility “sooner rather than later” per The Advocate’s Koki Riley.
Given the unpredictable weather in the south in general and Louisiana specifically, it’s easy to see why.
Johnson reiterates that he wants an indoor infield facility for his team #LSU.
He said he wants it sooner rather than later.

It’s not the first time Johnson has addressed the issue. In October, he expressed the need to build indoor hitting cages and expand the pitching facilities. Now, it appears he’s applying that pressure once again entering what could be another very successful year.
