Jared Goff is the ‘perfect’ choice for Week 4 Player of the Game

After making NFL history Monday night, Lions quarterback Jared Goff makes “perfect” sense to be the team’s Player of the Game for Week 4.

For the first time since 2012, the Detroit Lions defeated the Seattle Seahawks in yet another classic shootout between the two teams. The Lions won 42-29 to move to 3-1 and hand the Seahawks their first loss of the season.

It was a great day all around for the Lions, but in terms of picking a Player of the Game, there feels to be just one option here and that’s quarterback Jared Goff.

Call him Mr. Perfect if you will as Goff went 18/18 for 292 yards with two touchdowns. For good measure, he also caught a touchdown pass from Amon-Ra St. Brown. Goff put his name in the history books Monday, becoming the first quarterback in NFL history to attempt more than ten passes in a game and not have a single incompletion. This was Goff’s first game this season in which he did not throw an interception and fell just eight yards shy of his second 300-yard passing day.

Goff gets some extra time to enjoy this win as the Lions head into their bye week. The Lions will do some traveling coming out of the bye, as four of their next five and five of their next seven are on the road, including their next two games at Dallas and Minnesota. For now, he can bask in having one of the best games in league history.
