Now firmly one of the NFL’s marquee teams, the Detroit Lions got the vaunted opening home Sunday night slot to start their 2024 season.
After overpowering the Los Angeles Rams in overtime (which led to Matthew Stafford answering some uncomfortable questions), standout big-play receiver Jameson Williams was the perfect person to recap an electric evening in the Motor City.
In the postgame, Williams — who caught five passes for 121 yards and a deep touchdown — was recorded reacting live to his score that initially broke the game open. In classic over-the-top but earnest Williams fashion, he recapped what happened during the play in the most delightful way:

You heard the man!
STOP PLAYING MAN COVERAGE BECAUSE “WAYMO” IS DEEP, MAN! Per Williams, that’s what’s gonna happen if you give Williams single coverage.
Do it at your own risk!
Everything about this Lions team continues to be so, so fun. If Williams emerges as a consistent speedster on one of the NFC Super Bowl favorites, this probably won’t be the first time we hear from him on a national stage.
