James Harden did something no Net has since Jason Kidd in 2006

From the opening tip, James Harden was not messing around with his first chance to play in front of Brooklyn fans as a member of the Nets.

Every other game, James Harden is doing something no Nets players has in a significant period of time. The latest example of that came on Tuesday, Harden’s first chance to play in front of Brooklyn fans at Barclays Center as a member of the Nets.

By the end of the first half of Tuesday’s game against the Sacramento Kings, the 2021 NBA All-Star guard had 18 points, 10 assists and fie rebounds to his name, achieving his NBA-leading 20th points-assists double-double of the season and extending his franchise-record of consecutive games with a double-double to 13. Sixteen of Harden’s 2020-21 double-doubles have come in a Nets uniform — in just 19 games.

Additionally, Harden is the first Net since Jason Kidd in 2006 to register 15-plus points, 10-plus assists and five-plus rebounds in a half. No NBA player has posted such a line in a half this season.
