James Brown earns All-City Chicago honors in junior year

UNC Basketball 2024 recruit James Brown earned honors for his junior season in Chicago.

The North Carolina Tar Heels are fighting for their NCAA Tournament lives here in late February but the future of the program will rely on recruiting classes.

And for the 2024 cycle, the Tar Heels currently have the No. 1 team with four commitments.

Hubert Davis and his staff have put together a really good class as Drake Powell, Elliot Cadeau, James Brown, and Ian Jackson. All four have really improved over the past few months and now one of those players is earning some honors in Chicago.

The Chicago Sun-Times announced its All-City honors for the 2022-23 high school season and Brown earned third-team honors as Michael O’Brien revealed.

The city of Chicago is full of talented players, so being named to the third team is a nice accomplishment for Brown. His St. Rita teammate, Morez Johnson, was named a first-team selection.

St. Rita earned the No. 3 seed in the IHSA State Playoffs for Class 4A and will play No. 2 Brother Rice, the team former UNC player Bobby Frasor previously coached.
