They’re not even in the same division, but the Chiefs and Bengals are quickly forming one of the AFC’s best rivalries. We honestly have to give Ja’Marr Chase credit for keeping that spirit alive.
Speaking to reporters on Tuesday, Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow was asked who he thought was the best quarterback in the NFL. And without any hesitation, he said it was Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
“I don’t think there’s any argument right now,” Burrow said. “It’s Pat until somebody has a better year than he’s had. He’s the one to knock off.”
And it makes sense: Mahomes is coming off another incredible year and Super Bowl title. The Bengals — despite reaching the Super Bowl a couple years ago — haven’t won it yet. That didn’t stop Chase from backing his quarterback, though.

When asked a similar question, Chase said that Burrow was the best — there’s nothing wrong with backing his own QB. But when he was told that Burrow himself had said Mahomes, Chase responded with, “Pat who?”
Oh, he did it now. The Chiefs and the Bengals will meet on Dec. 31 in Kansas City, and we just know that “Pat who?” will be a thing.
Fans understandably took notice to the comments. There’s nothing like bulletin-board material in June.
