As much as the Rams said Todd Gurley wasn’t on a load management plan, it’s pretty obvious that he was. He carried it a career-low 223 times, caught only 31 passes and didn’t have 20 touches in a game until Week 11.
A lingering knee injury, which has been reported as arthritis, is perceived as the reason for Gurley’s lighter workload last season – and understandably so. His four-year extension hasn’t even kicked in yet, and the Rams were trying to protect their investment by keeping him fresh.
Well, Jalen Ramsey wants that plan thrown out the window. He says the Rams have to feed Gurley.

Gurley replied to Ramsey’s tweet, agreeing with the statement made by the Rams cornerback. Gurley didn’t say much about his reduced touches in 2019, but there’s no doubt he wants the ball and to be a bigger part of the offense.

The Rams could potentially move on from Gurley this offseason, but only by way of a trade. If he’s cut, the Rams will incur a dead cap charge of $25.65 million, which is more than he’ll cost them to be on the roster ($17.25M). If they trade him, they can save $4.65 million.
He’ll most likely be on the team in 2020, but if the Rams continue to limit his touches while simultaneously paying him $14.4 million per year, it probably won’t work in their favor much.
