Jalen Ramsey: ‘People have gotten spoiled’ by Aaron Donald’s greatness

Jalen Ramsey made a strong endorsement for Aaron Donald as the Defensive Player of the Year.

Aaron Donald has won Defensive Player of the Year twice in his career, and he could very well be on his way to a third award. Year in and year out, he’s undeniably one of the best defenders in the league, and often puts himself at least in the outskirts of the MVP discussion for his impact on the field.

Jalen Ramsey has only played alongside Donald for a year and a half, but there’s no doubt in his mind that Donald is the best defender in the league. After crashing Donald’s NFL Network appearance following the Rams’ win to endorse him as Defensive Player of the Year, Ramsey took to Twitter to make an even stronger statement.

He says people have been spoiled by Donald’s greatness and that No. 99 remains the best defender in the league – if not the best overall player.

The chemistry and relationship these two have built in the last 14 months has been impressive to watch, and it’s encapsulated perfectly in the video clip above. They both should be in the conversation for Defensive Player of the Year, but Ramsey is going out of his way to endorse his teammate.

Their passion on the field is unquestionable, too. During Kenny Young’s pick-six Thursday night, it was Donald and Ramsey hustling down the field to block Cam Newton and guide Young to the end zone.

Sean McVay recognized that and Ramsey said they just “had to finish the play.”
