Jalen Ramsey congratulates Dak Prescott on record contract with Cowboys

Jalen Ramsey pointed out that no contracts are handed out. They’re earned by the players.

After two years of negotiating, the Dallas Cowboys and Dak Prescott finally agreed to a contract extension on Monday night – and it’s a massive one. The deal spans four years and is worth $160 million, making Prescott the second-highest paid quarterback annually behind only Patrick Mahomes, who earns $45 million per year.

Prescott’s deal also includes an NFL record $95 million fully guaranteed at signing, as well as $126 million total guaranteed. Jalen Ramsey has pounded the table for players getting what they earn on the field, and after Prescott’s deal came through, he congratulated the Cowboys quarterback.

As he pointed out with Deshaun Watson, Ramsey made sure to note that Prescott earned this contract, it wasn’t given to him.

Ramsey and Prescott squared off last season in Week 1, a win by the Rams at home to open SoFi Stadium. Prescott threw for 266 yards and one touchdown in that game. Ramsey made six tackles and broke up one pass in the Rams’ victory.
