Jalen Ramsey comes to Dwayne Haskins’ defense: ‘I’m rooting for you’

Jalen Ramsey appears to have changed his mentality in 2020.

Jalen Ramsey is one of the biggest trash-talkers in the NFL, often chirping in receivers’ ears before and after the snap. It’s his way of getting a competitive edge over his opponents, and for the most part, it’s worked.

But it seems we may be getting a new version of Ramsey in 2020. The young Rams cornerback shared some words of encouragement for Redskins quarterback Dwayne Haskins on Twitter, telling him to block out the doubters, while also saying he’s rooting for the second-year quarterback.

Haskins has come under criticism in Washington with many questioning if he’s actually the Redskins’ franchise quarterback – or even their starter in 2020. He’s been working hard this offseason, though, slimming down and cutting his body fat from 17% to 13%.

The latest person to question Haskins’ talent is Gil Brandt of NFL Media, who deleted this tweet about Art Schlichter, who’s serving 10 years in prison for a million-dollar sports ticket scheme.

Ramsey coming to his defense shows a new side of the Rams cornerback, who appears to be maturing during this time of isolation.

The Rams face the Redskins in Week 5, traveling to Washington on Oct. 11 for a 10 a.m. PT kickoff. Ramsey may be supporting Haskins right now, but there’s no doubt he’ll want to pick him off once or twice five months from now when they meet on the field.
