Jalen Milroe runs rampant on LSU in Alabama’s 42-28 victory

Alabama knocks off LSU 42-28 behind Jalen Milroe’s dominant day

After a Week 2 loss to the Texas Longhorns and a Week 3 17-13 struggle win against Group of 5 opponent USF it seemed like Alabama was a fringe top 25 team. They had played three quarterbacks, looked awful in two of three games and were plagued by penalties yet again. It hasn’t always been pretty, but since the USF win Alabama has ripped off six more wins and looks like a legitimate playoff contender.

The Tide picked up one of their biggest wins of the season Saturday evening as they knocked off the LSU Tigers 42-28 to clinch the pole position in the SEC West. Alabama still needs to win their three remaining regular-season games against Kentucky, Chattanooga and Auburn, but an SEC Championship Game against the back-to-back national champion Georgia Bulldogs will be Alabama’s final test to qualify for the playoffs.

After giving up an early third-quarter touchdown to go down 28-21, it was all Alabama as the defense shut out Jayden Daniels and company from there. Jalen Milroe was the star of the game for Nick Saban’s side with 219 yards in the air and 155 on the ground and tacked on four rushing touchdowns – a school record by a quarterback.

Alabama looked a little sluggish in the first half coming off of the bye week, but once they found their rhythm they picked up right where they left off against Tennessee. From the eye test, there is no team in the country that I don’t think Alabama can beat. They just need to start putting together games for an entire four quarters.
