Tennessee (7-3-1, 3-1-0 SEC) defeated No. 13 Ole Miss (9-1-2, 3-1-0 SEC), 1-0, at Ole Miss Soccer Stadium Friday.
Jaida Thomas scored in the 79th minute, giving the Lady Vols a 1-0 lead.
The goal was assisted by Claudia Dipasupil and was Thomas’ 10th of the season.
Tennessee outshot the Rebels, 18-9. Eight of Tennessee’s scoring chances landed on goal. Ole Miss finished the match with three shots on goal.
Lady Vols’ goalkeeper Lindsey Romig totaled three saves en route to recording a shutout.
Ole Miss goalkeeper Ashley Orkus recorded seven saves in the match.
Tennessee will next play Missouri Thursday at Regal Soccer Stadium. The SEC contest will kick off at 7 p.m. EDT (SEC Network+).
