Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence nominated for Pepsi Zero Sugar Rookie of the Week

Lawrence earned his second Rookie of the Week nomination for his effort in Jacksonville’s win on Sunday.

Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence continues to progress as a rookie. While his season numbers aren’t incredible (with a 59.7% completion with seven touchdowns and eight interceptions), the week-to-week improvements have been clear.

For the second time this season on Sunday, Lawrence avoided any interceptions as he led the Jags to their first win in the 2021 campaign with a walk-off field goal to beat the Dolphins in London. He was 25-of-41 and tossed for 319 yards and a touchdown. He also manufactured the quick field-goal drive at the end of the game.

After his impressive performance, Lawrence was named a finalist for the Pepsi Zero Sugar Rookie of the Week in Week 6. He was previously nominated for the award in Week 1, as well, though he didn’t win it. This time around, he’s joined by Patriots quarterback Mac Jones, Dolphins receiver Jaylen Waddle, Steelers running back Najee Harris, Bears running back Khalil Herbert and Bengals receiver Ja’Marr Chase.
