Jaguars lead off Falcons’ toughest four-game stretch of 2021

The Falcons may be playing one of the easier schedules in 2021, but that doesn’t mean they won’t face some tough stretches.

The Falcons may be playing one of the easier schedules in 2021, but that doesn’t mean they won’t face some tough stretches. In fact, the team’s Week 6 bye could pave the way for a difficult second half of the season.

Cynthia Frelund of NFL.com analyzed each team’s toughest four-game stretch this year. For Atlanta, it begins in late November and runs through the middle of December. The team will visit Jacksonville for a Week 12 game against the Jaguars, then will play at home versus the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 13. After that, it’s back on the road for two NFC matchups against the Carolina Panthers and San Francisco 49ers.

  • Week 12: @ Jacksonville | 51.3 Win percentage
  • Week 13: vs Tampa Bay | 45.8 Win percentage
  • Week 14: @ Carolina | 49.5 Win percentage
  • Week 15: @ San Francisco | 45 Win percentage

Through these four games, the Falcons boast an average projected win percentage of 47.9, which is on par with early betting lines. This four-game run comes sandwiched in the middle of two winnable road games against New England and Detroit.

However, despite playing the defending Super Bowl champs and traveling to San Francisco, this isn’t the toughest four-game stretch among NFC South teams. The Panthers’ four-game stretch from Weeks 15 to 18 projects them for a winning percentage of 45.

Of course, the easiest four-game run for any team in the division is Tampa Bay’s run of games from Weeks 12 to 15 where they see an average win percentage of 54.2.

Falcons Wire’s Matt Urben and Deen Worley both predict Atlanta to come away from these four games with a 3-1 record.
