Jaguars guard Ben Bartch says he dislocated knee vs. Texans

Doug Pederson said Ben Bartch is undergoing tests on his injured knee.

The Jacksonville Jaguars’ starting left guard Ben Bartch is dealing with what he says was a dislocated knee suffered against the Houston Texans in Week 5.

Bartch, 24, told Andrew Badillo of First Coast News that he dislocated his knee Sunday, but should be okay. He wasn’t ready to make a prediction about returning in Week 6, though.

On Monday, Jaguars coach Doug Pederson didn’t have much of an update on the status of the offensive lineman.

“He’s getting more tests run today and should have something probably later today or possibly on Wednesday or tomorrow,” Pederson said of Bartch. “We’re getting more tests run.”

Bartch was a fourth-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft and started most of last season. He beat out Tyler Shatley for a starting role this year and was replaced in the game by Shatley on Sunday.

According to Pro Football Focus, Shatley allowed two pressures in his 46 offensive snaps. Bartch allowed one in 29 snaps before exiting Sunday.
