What a difference a couple of weeks makes, huh?
Heading into Week 15, the winless New York Jets appeared destined for the No. 1 pick in the 2021 NFL draft, and with it the opportunity to select Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence.
But after back-to-back wins by the Jets, the Jacksonville Jaguars clinched next year’s top draft pick with a blowout loss to the Chicago Bears on Sunday.
After pulling off a shocking upset of the Los Angeles Rams for their first win of the season, the Jets followed it up with another surprising victory, beating the Cleveland Browns.
Even if the Jaguars win and Jets lose in Week 17, giving them both the same record, the Jags would get the top draft pick based on the strength-of-schedule tie-breaker.
